Marananga Regional Wine Show

Saturday, August 28 2010

.

Preparations for the 2010 Marananga Regional Wine Show are well underway....

Plans are well underway for the seventh annual Marananga Regional Wine Show.
Last years event proved to be extremely successful showcasing 116 exhibited wines produced from grapes predominantly grown in the Western Barossa region.
Both commercial and hobby grapegrowers and winemakers are invited to enter and exhibit their wines of any style, including Red and White Varietals and Blends as well as Rosé, Fortifieds, Sweet and Sparklings.
All wines entered will be judged professionally to National Wine Show standards on Thursday the 26th of August 2010 at the Gnadenfrei Church Hall, Marananga.  Exhibitors will receive confidential feedback on each of their entries by means of a written evaluation based on the judges’ assessments.
This is a unique opportunity for producers and winemakers to receive a professional industry critique of their wine which can in turn be used as a tool for future enhancement and fine tuning of their wines.

A public tasting of all wines entered will be held on Saturday the 28th August from 7.00pm in the historic Seppeltsfield Distillery, within the grounds of the Seppeltsfield Winery.

This evening will give the public an opportunity to taste all wines entered and experience the fine and diverse selection of wines produced in the Western Barossa region.
During the evening, awards generously donated by each of the wine show sponsors will be presented by Cooperages 1912, Barossa Brewing Company, the Greenock Tavern, Fabro-Weld, the Barossa Grapegrowers Vine Selection Society, Tanunda Cellars, CozWine, Barossa Bottling Services, Nitschke Furniture, Barossa PrintMasters and the GnadenfreiLutheranChurch to the top scoring wine in each category.
The Louise & Appellation People’s Choice Award will again be a feature of the evening with a most generous prize being awarded to the exhibitor whose wine gains the most public votes during the course of the public tasting evening.

The Marananga Regional Wine Show Committee encourages any producer/winemaker within the Western Barossa region to submit their wines and take advantage of the professional feedback and community exposure to their product as well as enjoy the community spirit of this successfully growing event.
In 2009 the public tasting evening was attended by around 180 people, many of whom were introduced to a number of participating exhibitor’s wines for the first time. Entry fee this year to the public tasting night is $15.00, which includes a complimentary wine glass. We would love to see you there!
