Barossa Bock is Seppeltsfield’s own traditional German style beer. It is brewed according to Reinheitsgebot which is the German Purity Law of 1516 which declared that beer could only be produced from barley, hops and water. A Bock is a full strength lager originating in the northern German town of Einbeck in the 14th century and recreated in Munich in the 17th century as a Festbock to celebrate important holidays like Christmas.

Colour
True to these origins, Barossa Bock is a strong lager with an alcohol content of 5.8%, which is slightly higher than standard beers. It has a typical bock complex maltiness coming from a rich blend of malted barley including Viennese and Bohemian malts.

Nose
The pleasant bitterness of Barossa Bock comes from the Hallertau hops which are the first known cultivated hops dating back to 736 AD in the Hallertau region of Germany. They are complemented by a small amount of the aromatic Bohemian Saaz hops.

Palate
This flavoursome beer presents with a creamy persistent head, a malty palate and finely balanced bitterness.
