The Shiraz, Touriga & Grenache blocks, lying on the ironstone soils of the Western ridge of the Barossa, were carefully managed through what would prove to be a challenging viticultural season. Traditionally reserved for our fortified offerings, small parcels of Shiraz, Grenache & Touriga that showed the best colour, acid and flavour balance were identified for an elegant, medium-bodied still red blend.
A beautifully balanced wine, showing wild hedgerow fruits, white blossom and savoury spice. Brief maturation in seasoned French oak allows the purity of fruit to shine, whilst adding a delicate tannin structure.
Awarded the 2012 Barossa Wine Show Gold Medal & Trophy for Best Shiraz Dominant Blend.
