Heritage Buildings

These buildings, dating from the 1850s and on were all purpose built for a very wide range of activities. In some cases we will aim to restore them to former use- in others they will be “adaptively re-used”, of course always respecting their construction and heritage status.

Stables1850s. Now housing the Seppeltsfield cooperage, our first adaptive re-use of part of the stables. You can visit Seppeltsfield and see the cooperage in action. Ask about the firing of the barrels, well worth seeing (and enjoying the wonderful aromas of toasted oak!)

Two level building including cellar door tasting and sales area, VIP tasting area (Trophy Cellar), Joseph Seppelt’s room, bottle storage, conference room and offices. Storage currently includes cask room (2x2.25kl), wood storage (292 barrels and 208 vats)  2 x 70kl 140,000

  Used as a bottle storage cellar 1890’s 330 sq m.
 Contains original furniture, including examples of "Barossa German" the unique style developed by the practical and thrifty Lutheran settlers.

Now mainly used for formal dinners in the dining room.You can book the homestead for that  special utimate dinner.

Last produced vinegar in 2000; all tanks are still in place, most equipment is in place but not serviceable 1880’s 340 sq m.

Seppelt Family Mausoleum
Seppelt Family Mausoleum
Built in the style of a Greek Doric temple, the Seppelt family Mausoleum is located on the property (Volume 5831, Folio 878) on a nearby hilltop and affords great views across the valley floor.

Cooperage

The ancient art of barrel making is  back at Seppeltsfield in the old stables  building. You will be able to see the spectacular “firing of the barrels” as well as all the other facets of this most area important of winemaking.  This building would make a great market. Anyone interested?
