Marananga Wine Show Public Tasting

07:00 PM - 09:30 PM
Sat 25 Aug 2018

Seppeltsfield Road winds its way through the vineyards of the western Barossa – an iconic avenue of palms that links the villages of Marananga and Seppeltsfield.

The road is flanked by renowned wineries such as Whistler Wines, Seppeltsfield, Tscharke and Greenock Creek Wines as well as an intriguing number of small batch wine producers. Marananga Lutheran Church stands amongst vineyards and palms, and each year holds the Marananga Wine Show as a celebration of the wines of its western Barossa community.

The event showcases wines from the western Barossa and is the only sub-regional wine show in Australia. The MWS public tasting provides guests with the rare opportunity to stand shoulder to shoulder with growers and winemakers, taste 120 wine entries and cast their vote for the People’s Choice award.

Gourmet food lovers will want to combine a visit to the Marananga Wine Show Public Tasting with one of the region's exceptional culinary experiences. Hentley Farm, Appellation and Fino all call this sub-region home, and a wide range of accommodation awaits those who choose to extend their experience for an entire weekend!

Tickets are $25.00 and purchased via the 'BOOK NOW' button or phoning the Barossa Visitors Centre on 1300 852 982 - or at the door if you're a last minute decider.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to taste a wide variety of wines produced from within the western Barossa region.

Grapes of Mirth at Seppeltsfield

12:00 PM - 07:00 PM
Sat 01 Sep 2018

The annual Barossa Gourmet Weekend this year is set to include a comedic twist, with Seppeltsfield announcing a one-show-only performance of the comedy star-studded production, Grapes of Mirth.

Luke McGregor (Utopia, Rosehaven), Tommy Little (The Project, Hit 107) and Tom Ballard (Tonightly, Triple J), will be joined by Fiona O’Loughlin, Akmal Saleh and Nikki Britton – all coming together to deliver a barrel of laughs at Seppeltsfield, on Saturday September 1st.

Emceed by perennial prankster and Grapes of Mirth founder, Merrick Watts, the live stand-up production comes to the Barossa following two sold-out events in McLaren Vale.

The line-up of comedians include some of the most familiar faces on prime time Australian TV and radio, regular Fringe performers and hottest new talents.

Having hosted several events at Seppeltsfield in recent years, Watts believes the Grapes of Mirth comedy line-up will provide the ultimate “chill-out day” at Seppeltsfield, delivering upon the event’s mission take some of the seriousness out of wine.

“Far too often wine gigs are all about being lectured on sniff, swirl and spit”, said Watts. “Bugger that. Expect six headline comedy sets held at Australia’s most awesome wine destination, a host with the most (what can I say), and some sweet DJ tunes to keep you entertained before, between, and after the comedy has ended – that’s what Grapes of Mirth is about”, he added.

“Getting into the Gourmet Weekend vibe, of course only the best Barossa wine, locally produced beer and cider, and plenty of gourmet grub will be on offer”, Watts added.

Buses will depart from the Convention Centre. Please meet at the bottom of the escalators, on North Terrace. Please arrive at 10:45am, for an 11:00am sharp departure. Busses will depart Seppeltsfield at 7:00pm for the return leg.

Carl Cox & Eric Powell's Mobile Disco

01:00 PM - 09:00 PM
Sun 25 Nov 2018

After two sold-out events in McLaren Vale in 2016 and 2017, the Mobile Disco is on the move in 2018, heading to the Barossa Valley's Seppeltsfield.

This year is the Mobile Disco's third outing to South Australia, and again they're mixing things up.

Year one they brought us hip-hop, year two it was acid jazz, and this year, it's all about classic 90s vocal house. And, who better to bring along for the ride than two artists that dominated and helped shape dance music in the 90s - CeCe Peniston and Robin S.

CeCe Peniston in an international icon, having won numerous awards across her 25-year history in the music industry, including 'Best Artist', Songwriter of the Year' and 'Urban Award of Achievement', to name just a few. She is considered one of the most successful artists in the history of the U.S Billboard Dance / Club charts. Robin S is a chart-topping successful singer and songwriter and has achieved both 'Best Dance Artist' and 'Best Dance Single' at the Billboard Awards. She has worked with some of the biggest music producers, including Todd Terry and David Morales.

The Adelaide Mobile Disco crowd now have a good idea of what to expect on the day, Carl Cox and Eric Powell playing tracks that they grew up with and that inspired their musical journeys; some of the best soul, funk, disco, and house tunes. CeCe and Robin will join them on stage to belt out some of their classic dance tracks, including two of the biggest hits in dance music history - 'Finally' and 'Show Me Love'.

In 2016 this event sold out in under 24 hours, in 2017, less than 5 days.

This is the feel-good event of the year. Pack your dancing shoes, and come party with us at the historical Seppeltsfield Winery - and bring the love, lots of love!
